about.

Courteney Jones is currently enrolled at The Florida State University, where she is completing a Bachelor of Arts

degree in English: Editing, Writing, and Media, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Media and Communication

studies.

Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, it's no surprise Courteney developed such a taste for media and

entertainment. Her interest in writing, pop culture, and the dramatic arts goes as far back as elementary school,

when she won a school-wide creative writing contest for an essay imagining herself aboard the Titanic,

Leonardo DiCaprio sadly not included. She even dressed up for her reading at the award ceremony, and yes,

she wouldbe happy to reenact it for you sometime.

Her passions for creative writing and drama continued throughout her education. She joined the drama club

in both middle and high school. While in high school, Courteney was elected as the drama club's

Advertising/PR officer for three consecutive years, and as such was in charge of promoting the theater

department's productions, including working on programs and ad sales, posters, and writing announcements

for the school's morning news program. While in high school, Courteney also participated in the Cappies Critics and

Awards program for high school students. As a Cappie, Courteney and her teammates viewed and wrote reviews of other local high school productions, and those reviews were sometimes picked up by local publications. In her time as a Cappie, Courteney had her articles posted in many local newspapers, including the Orlando Sentinel. She was chosen by Cappies National directors as the best critic for the Central Florida region for both her junior and senior year of high school.

After high school, while attending Valencia College in Orlando, Courteney was chosen as the discipline award winner for the English department during the Spring of 2013. In her post-graduate career, Courteney hopes to continue to find creative outlets for her ideas and writing, and to share those outlets with others. Put her to work.
